Privacy policy

The short version

• There is no sign-up. We never ask you for your name or your email address.
• The code you write is never sent outside this device.
• How you did — the number of correct answers, pass or fail — is not recorded anywhere.
• Google and its partners may use cookies in order to serve ads.

What happens to the code you write

In Fulfledge, everything you write runs inside your own device. JavaScript, HTML and CSS run in an isolated area of the browser (a sandbox), and SQL runs in a database that runs inside the browser. Your code is never sent to a server to be marked or run.Fulfledge has no server that could receive your code in the first place.

What is stored on your device

So that you can pick your learning up where you left it, Fulfledge uses the browser's storage area (localStorage) for the following. Both are kept only inside your own device, and neither is sent or shared.

Your position and unfinished code in the most recent lesson

For the single lesson you opened last, this stores which stage and which exercise you are on, plus the unfinished code for each exercise. Opening a different lesson erases the previous record. Whether you answered correctly, and whether you looked at a hint, are not stored.

Playground drafts

This stores the code you wrote in the Playground, so you can carry on from it the next time you open it.

You can erase these at any time with "Clear the record" on the home screen, "Back to the starter code" in the Playground, or by deleting the site data from your browser settings.

About the ads

To keep Fulfledge free, it carries ads from the third-party service Google AdSense. Ads appear only on the reading pages — the home screen, the course lists, and the slide part of a lesson. They do not appear on the screens where you are solving exercises, or in the Playground.

Third-party vendors, including Google, may use cookies to serve ads based on your past visits. Through these cookies, information about visits to Fulfledge and to other sites may be used to decide which ads are shown, but it does not include things like your name, address, email address or phone number.

You can turn personalised ads off in Ads Settings. For third-party vendor cookies, aboutads.info also explains how to opt out. For how Google handles data, see Google's Privacy & Terms.

If you visit from the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland, a message asks for your consent to the use of cookies and to ad personalisation. You can change what you chose there at any time.

The code you write and what you study are never used to serve ads.

Analytics

No analytics tool is in use at the moment. If one is added, this page will be updated first.
